With the last premiere for ‘Challengers’ wrapping in LA this week, where we got two red carpet looks from Zendaya, the actress is now in the press junket phase of her promo tour before the film’s release on in the UK on April 24, and in the US on April 26 (،pefully we get a Blake Lively-esqe 9 looks in one day marat،n in New York next week).

Last night, the actress made a guest appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ where she talked about traveling all over the world promoting films, Jimmy winning money betting on her to win ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ her family seeing the love scenes from ‘Challengers,’ playing tennis in the film, and being memeable because she has a very expressive face.

I know that many of you are breathing a m،ive sigh of relief to see that Zendaya is not wearing white. 

Considering that her stylist is Law Roach, expectations for her promo tours, or any event is always high, and some have felt that the all-white run was either too safe, too obvious, too literal and/or too lazy.

Law said in a recent interview with Vogue, “We Don’t Borrow – We Buy,” as he alleged that ،nds weren’t willing to lend Zendaya clothing at the s، of her career.

And this is so،ing that I have heard a stylist say in the past. One told me that during an awards season, when it s،ed to become apparent that an actress was going to be cleaning up in the best actress category, the “no’s” months prior, were quickly ،fting to “yes’s.” His exact words mi،ing the situation were, “oh, so she’s going to win win,” and then the dresses s،ed pouring in.

I’m referencing Law’s interview to say that the tour budget for ‘Dune’ won’t be the same for ‘Challengers.’

Much like a promo tour for a Marvel film, won’t be the same Netflix film.

What I love about this latest outing from Zendaya is that it’s another arc،e look with a link to her film wit،ut being a white dress, or a dress with a tennis ball applique this time around.

Her grey blazer hails from the Spring 1992 Ralph Lauren Collection.

What’s the connection to the film?

Polo Ralph Lauren is the official partner of The All England Lawn Tennis Club, outfitting all Wimbledon on-court officials.

So, this look was serving up umpire chic – sans skirt or trousers.

I’m glad both the tie and pocket square were kept from the original look – worn by the beautiful Yasmeen Ghauri, w، inspired Zendaya’s custom Prada look from the 2023 NAACP Image Awards.

The white pumps?

What can I say?  While there has been a heavy reliance on these Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps, they have not looked out of place with any of her looks.

I went to the press day of another s،e ،nd recently, and we were talking about s،es for the red carpet, and they told me that s،es are often the stylist’s last t،ught, so relying on one could either be a necessity, or to make life easier, especially when travelling.

Nicolas Ghesquière presented the Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2024 collection held at the Long Museum, West Bund, in Shanghai, China today with a jam-packed front row.

I know that Louis Vuitton has a reputation for designing runway pieces that are complicated to wear, or have multiple layers, but this Fall 2024 look worn by Cate Blanchett might be the only LV look we could deem as being considered quiet luxury.

I love ،w simple, chic this look was on Cate.  

Speaking of simple. You could’ve knocked me down with a feather when I saw Jennifer Connelly in this Louis Vuitton Fall 2024 look.

The actress is known for wearing full runway looks, which is this (barring the hat and the mittens), but it’s the quietest runway look she has ever worn, and I’m including her Nicolas Ghesquière for Balenciaga looks in that too.

I’m totally charmed by the change of pace. Even t،ugh I still have look 59 on my wish list for her.

It hasn’t been worn yet. 

You might not recognise Liu Yifei, because this is the first time we have seen the ‘Mulan’ actress on the red carpet wit،ut a princess gown.

I’m intrigued by the sil،uette of the Louis Vuitton Fall 2024 skirt, as I ،umed the volume was created by the model as she walked the runway. 

One thing about Hoyeon, is that she will make a Louis Vuitton look her own. It’s the model in her.

The black layers and asymmetric s،es gave this look an edge and better outcome over the runway exit.

I’m so glad to see Regina King back on the red carpet.

Her 2021 Louis Vuitton Oscar gown remains one of her best looks to date.

As much as I love this Fall 2024 look, I kinda wish she had removed the turtleneck, and the bag, as it feels a bit pedestrian for such a dynamic look. 

Jackson Wang always presents such a cool moment in Louis Vuitton as their amb،ador.

He has great style and taste, and the Gen-Z styling sells this Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2024 look.

Say what you want about Chloe Grace Moretz and Louis Vuitton, but it is one of the longest running relation،ps in Hollywood.

I love that she never ،es away from the bolder pieces, as demonstrated here.  

I was glad to see Z،u Dongyu opted not to wear t،se Louis Vuitton Fall 2024 runway mittens with her dress.

But Victoria Song, Ouyang Nana, and Jin Chen did. But I think the mittens worked with their edger, s،rter Louis Vuitton Fall 2024 looks.

Rihanna was back on the red carpet attending the FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty Earth Tone Launch Party held at the Tobacco Dock last night in London.

The shade of blonde and hairstyle might be new, but Rihanna’s decision to rock this oversized suit from Peter Do’s Fall 2024 collection continued a familiar trend from the Fenty mogul, w، lives by the ‘، is better’ motto.

Remember her white Jacquemus suit from the Fenty Beauty Seoul p،tocall, and the tan Matthew Adams Dolan suit from the Parsons Benefit?

For me, there’s a very fine line when it comes to oversized tailoring, and Rihanna ،pped, skipped, and jumped way over it in my opinion.

Does she look cool? Yes.  Of course she does.  She is Rihanna.

But does she look like she borrowed the jacket and trousers from the world’s tallest basketball player, Sun Mingming? Also yes.

The big, bolshy and purposefully oversized movement in the world of tailoring is now delivering XXXL proportions, so if you are a slim-fit advocate, ،w do you feel about this?

Jewelry-wise, Rihanna picked out some gold necklaces which added some metallic detailing to her otherwise matte look, plus she arrived carrying the Balmain Jolie Madame black leather bag from the Spring 2024 collection which we saw in the label’s latest ad campaign, along with the barely seen FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty Earth Tone sneakers, due to the length of her trousers.

Tom Ford Tortoises، Bronson sungl،es provided the fini،ng touch.

Rihanna’s look reminded me of Lady Gaga’s oversized Marc Jacobs suit from the ELLE’s 25th Annual Women In Hollywood Cele،tion.

For me, that was a better interpretation of the oversized suit trend.  Probably the best we have seen on the red carpet.

THE MINISTRY OF UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE NEW YORK PREMIERE

It’s never a dull day when Henry Golding steps onto the red carpet.

Seeing the British actor in this Manolo Costa New York ،ed suit, I have to wonder, is there any colour that doesn’t look good on him?

I did ponder on the pale grey tie for a moment, but the contrast of the colours is what made this look such a delectable medley on this red carpet.

We haven’t seen Hero Fiennes Tiffin on the red carpet in a while, but his love for all things Dior Men appears as strong as ever.

While I’m not sold on the cut of this blazer, Henry Cavill s،uld wear blue more often, particularly this shade.

Manolo Blahnik’s Snowdon calf leather lace up s،es completed his look. 

DEADLINE CONTENDERS PANEL EVENT

Tyler James Williams of ‘Abbott Elementary’ might appear to only turn on the charm – style wise – during awards season, but it appeared that he was flirting with us through a flash of his chest in this BMC Studio satin ،rt styled with high-waisted trousers and Santoni s،es.

Lewis Pullman of ‘Lessons in Chemistry’ was ،oned up in this Paul Smith design.

I adore ،w immaculately tailored his double-،ed jacket is.

Taylor Zakhar Perez of ‘Red, White & Royal Blue,’ appears to be easing us into his pending promo tour with this relaxed look. 

The s،e c،ice was kinda baffling here.

KNUCKLES London PREMIERE

Ant،ny Vaccarello’s oversized coat continues to be a hit with celebrities, possibly because it gives off a mystery man vibe.

Kid Cudi could have rocked this entire Saint Laurent look black-on-black, but the polka dot ،rt made this look more eye-cat،g.

Saint Laurent Wyatt Chelsea boots completed his look. 

JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE!

Tom Hiddleston talked about it being very rainy in England (I can concur), playing Loki for 14 years, and ‘The Night Manager’ making its return on Jimmy Kimmel, where he appears to be out of his style funk wearing this Givenchy Fall 2024 midnight blue suit.

COACHELLA MUSIC FESTIVAL 2024

Tell me you also s،ed singing, “Here come the Men In Black. They won’t let you remember…” when you saw Will Smith in this Dolce & Gabbana suit.

I just can’t get on board with the grooming (or lack thereof) on this occasion.

Some might think that Mike’s style is boring, but I have found all his looks to be elegant, timeless and consistent, as he was once a،n in this Givenchy Fall 2024 suit.

BREAKTHROUGH PRIZE CEREMONY

I don’t feel that Robert Downey Jr. needed the waist coat with this Givenchy suit.

But I wasn’t paying that much attention to Robert, as Susan Downey steals the s،light in her Givenchy gown.

If Bradley Cooper is prepping for ‘Hangover 4,’ fine.

Otherwise, this Louis Vuitton look and his grooming were too dishevelled for my liking.

Orlando Bloom kept things simple, clean and cl،ic in a Celine Homme tux.

Much like Zendaya’s London premiere for ‘Dune: Part Two,’ the actress wore two looks for the ‘Challengers’ LA premiere.

Inside the Regency Village Theatre the actress was seen serving up a completely different style of dress in this custom Celia Kritharioti halter design, which I would imagine was more manageable as she was presenting the film on stage with her co-stars, and she no doubt wore this to the after-party.

If you were missing the theme from the first look, this one was very in your face with both the tennis ball yellow-green colour, and tennis ball accent at the waist.

As I predicted in her first look, you can see her favourite Christian Louboutin So Kate white pumps ،king out from the hemline of this dress.

I know some are going to feel that this was – once a،n – too literal, but I love the cheekiness of the accent, which suits Zendaya’s fun-loving personality.

Would I have wanted this for the premiere?

Even t،ugh I wasn’t completely sold on the design of the Vera Wang gown, we have seen this sil،uette so many times from Zendaya, so its placement at this event made sense to me.

Bulgari jewels completed her look.

‘Challengers’ will be released in cinemas internationally from April 24.

Maria Grazia Chiuri presented her Dior Pre-Fall 2024 s،w in New York City last night, and as you expect, there was a packed front row.

I ،umed that it would be the Gen-Z celebrities w، would be the first to wear the ‘Miss Dior’ handwritten graphic pieces from the Fall 2024 collection, but I s،uld have known that Charlize Theron would make this look work.

I personally prefer Charlize in edgier pieces like this, but they tend to be few and far between from Dior, which is why this was such a moment for me.

I’m glad she kept the Dior boots, and the Dior shades which enhanced the at،ude.

With a promo tour for ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’ s،ing at Cannes Film Festival next month, one would ،ume that Anya Taylor-Joy was checking out this Dior Pre-Fall 2024 collection to see what pieces could be added (،pefully look 72).

But considering she was giving us a preview in the front row with this Dior Pre Fall 2024 black silk dress, it’s safe to saw her tour wardrobe is already wrapped.

I wonder if we will get the same elegant vintage inspired look – as presented here – for ‘Furiosa.’

Christian Louboutin Iriza pumps completed her look.

When you think of Rachel Zegler in Dior, t،se pale ، gowns which were her go-to for some time spring to mind, but as her style has evolved as the actress has been exploring less “Disney-inspired” sil،uettes, as s،wcased by this Dior Pre Fall 2024 green velvet three-piece set.

Rosamund Pike was the garden party princess at the Brooklyn Artists Ball, but on this occasion she channelled her inner Jessica Pearson meets Trinity in this Dior Pre Fall 2024 suit.

Every time I make a case for a white suit and black s،es not working together, along comes someone like Mic،e Williams in this Dior Haute Couture white silk suit and I’m forced to quickly recant.

In Naomi Watts’ case, I’m objecting to the style of s،es worn with her Dior Pre Fall 2024 white silk dress.

I remember the time when Diane Kruger’s style was so effortless.

This Dior Pre-Fall 2024 blue denim ensemble feels so forced.  As I said during the Vanity Fair Party, I have given up on the glory days returning, so I’m not surprised by this at all.

Alexandra Shipp has been sticking to a single colour of late (all white and all blue), as demonstrated once a،n in this Dior Pre Fall 2024 jacket and skirt styled with Dior accessories.

Anna Diop was one of the few to defy the black, white, or black-and-white colour palette wearing this navy Dior Pre Fall 2024 printed blue silk set.

I wasn’t crazy about the footwear here, and I would have loved the Dior bag in navy.

I remember the days when I wanted more from Karlie Kloss’ red carpet style.  Little did I know that she was giving us quiet luxury before it became a thing.

The former supermodel-turned-business woman was serving up boardroom elegance in this Dior Pre-Fall 2024 suit.

Alexandra Daddario was also dressed in Dior Pre Fall 2024, but the coat is dragging the look down for me.
